JPEG 2000-4K - JPEG 2000-compatible Image Encoder for DCI 4K applications

The JPEG 2000-4K is a fully JPEG 2000 standard compatible implementation of an ultra high performance image encoder targeted for Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) 4K applications.

The design supports real-time processing of 2Kp24, 2Kp48 and 4Kp24 signals. Also, the encoder enables compression of any custom frame sizes up to 16K.

The JPEG 2000-4K is capable of processing two 2Kp48 and four 2Kp24 signals simultaneously, which translates to the ability of compressing 2K 3D images in real time.

Increased processing power of the Evatronix JPEG 2000-4K Encoder together with an implemented pipeline mechanism of simultaneous DWT transformation and JP2 codestream formation results in sub-frame encoding latency.

The compression system is flexible with respect to input image format, including different color spaces with up to 12-bit per sample and various component subsampling schemes (4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0).
