Serial Bus Interfaces - Stay Connected

serial bus interfacesModern electronics is all about connectivity. Be it within or outside the chip, nothing is really standalone nowadays.

Our USB controllers have become such popular products that have formulated a separate product line, but other serial bus interfaces are here.

SPI and I2C originate from our famous 8051 designs, but upon users demand they were developed as complete products.

HDLC and SDLC IP have been developed to secure efficient network communication.

Serial Bus Interfaces IP Products

The HDLC controller IP implements High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC) protocol and its derivatives such as LAPB or LAPD.

The SDLC controller provides a high speed synchronous serial communication interface. Operation of the controller is similar to that used in Intel® 8XC152 Global Serial Channel (GSC) working in SDLC mode under CPU control.

The I2C bus controller logic provides a serial interface that meets the Philips® I2C-bus specification and supports all transfer modes from and to the I2C-bus. The I2C logic handles bytes transfer autonomously.

The SPI is a design is developed after the SPI interface of Atmel® AT89C51RB2 microcontroller and provides all modes and features of the reference module. The SPI may be configured as a Master or as a Slave device.
